CORTEX
The hard part of counter-UAS is not hitting the target. It is hitting the target at a price the defender can pay again ten minutes later. CORTEX is designed from the cost sheet backwards: unit cost is fixed as a requirement on the first drawing and defended through the entire program, alongside probability of kill and engagement envelope.
The Trade
Win The
Exchange Ratio.
A surface-to-air missile costing several hundred thousand dollars will reliably destroy a drone assembled for four figures. Repeat that trade across a saturation raid and the defender runs out of money and magazine long before the attacker runs out of airframes. The engagement is won and the campaign is lost.
CORTEX inverts it. Commercial-derived seekers, a simple solid motor, printed control surfaces, and final assembly built for rate rather than for craftsmanship. Every component decision is measured against one question: does this buy more capability than it costs in magazine depth?
Design Requirements
Cost Is
Requirement One.
Requirement six is not negotiable in any configuration, for any customer. CORTEX will not be offered in a mode that removes the operator from the decision.
