BonesDefense

About

Early Stage.
Long Vision.

BonesDefense is an American defense company building counter-UAS, air defense, and airborne collection hardware. We are in the early stages, and we say so plainly on this page and everywhere else.

Mission

To build counter-UAS and air defense hardware that wins on cost per engagement, and the airborne collection that gets ahead of the launch, for the United States and its allies.

Vision

Machines that reach all the way to the decision and stop there. The principle outlasts any one product, so it will hold for a sensor or a ground station the same way it holds for an interceptor now.

Company Background

Why We Exist.

BonesDefense was founded on a straightforward observation: the cost structures that define legacy defense programs are an organizational problem, not an engineering one. Nothing in physics requires an interceptor to carry a six-figure price tag. That number is the output of a process, and processes can be rebuilt.

The second observation is about autonomy. The pressure across the industry runs one direction, toward taking the human out, because the human is slow. We think that pressure is pointed at the wrong constraint. Speed belongs in detection, correlation, and the firing solution. The decision to kill belongs to a person. A system that is honest about that boundary is easier to certify, and easier to sell to the people who have to answer for it.

That is what the mark means. Two hands, almost touching. The machine reaches as far as it can, and the last inch stays human.

Values

What We Stand For.

Cost Is a Requirement

Unit cost is set as a hard requirement on the first drawing, alongside range and probability of kill, and it holds that status through the entire design. That discipline is the whole reason the economics work.

A Human at the Trigger

Our systems are autonomous up to the engagement decision and stop there. No configuration, customer, or contract value changes that. The architecture enforces it, so there is nothing to override.

Domestic Manufacturing

Every system BonesDefense builds will be manufactured in America. Supply chain, tooling, and manufacturing partners are all selected around that constraint.

Radical Transparency

We are early stage. We say that clearly here and everywhere else. What we publish reflects where we actually stand.

Roadmap

Development Path.

01

Foundation

Company formation, IP development, collaborator agreements, and early government engagement.

02

Design

Systems design across all three programs. Subscale validation of the composite process we scale up from.

03

Prototype

First hardware. Aerodynamic and guidance validation, propulsion selection, VERTEBRA integration testing, and a flight test program.

04

Delivery

Government and commercial program execution, run leaner and faster than legacy contractor delivery.
